Als ist neulich einen Server mit Debian GNU/Linux aufgesetzt habe, habe ich ein nützliches Tool gefunden: Apticron
Apticron sendet ein Mail an den Admin (bzw. an eine definierte Adresse), wenn Updates zur Installation bereit stehen.
Die Installation geht einfach vonstatten:
apt-get install apticron
Die Mailadresse und andere Einstellungen lassen sich in der folgenden Config-Datei machen:
/etc/apticron/apticron.conf
Das versandte Mail sieht ca. so aus:
